It's an old RTMA code, which became EIA, so wonder why it and many others disappeared from the later listings apparently beginning in '53 [bought out by another listed vendor?]: http://audiophool.com/Misc/53_RTMA_codes.pdf

Wow--those sold for $3550.00? Makes these Montereys seem like quite a value (so far--bidding isn't over) especially since these have two 402A drivers each instead of one 402A and a passive radiator in the Catalinas....

D'oh! I thought they were passive radiators because I didn't see any obvious magnets. Yeah, a quick google search reveals 755B's are highly sought after drivers. So the Catalinas each have two full range drivers in them--755B and 402A? (the 402A is also full range?) Seems like an unusual pairing?

Extra bass response and a better HF in the Monterey, I would say.
